About FlightLine

We built the program we wanted to join.

As pilots, we outgrew rental aircraft. Buying meant a second job — every fixed cost, and all the depreciation. A partnership meant carrying someone else’s risk alongside our own. So we built the third option.

Why we exist

Two ways in. Neither works.

Rent
Someone else's airplane, on someone else's terms

Whatever is free in the pool, in whatever condition the last renter left it. Tired interiors, unpredictable availability, and a bill full of hourly rates, fuel surcharges and minimums.

Buy
You inherit a second job

You carry the whole cost, the maintenance, the hangar and the insurance — and every dollar of depreciation on an asset that sits idle most of the year.

Our way
Real equity, none of the work

A specific aircraft at your home field, a program that runs everything around it, and software that makes it feel like the airplane is simply yours.

Founding team

We fly what we manage.

Pilots, operators, and technologists who lived the problem.

Donny Malinoff
Donny Malinoff
CEO & Founder

Pilot and chief visionary. Donny has held a commercial certificate for 22 years. He did not grow up in an aviation family — the bug hit at 12, when his grandfather took him to visit the Boeing factory in Everett. He spent a decade in advertising and helped build FlightAware. When it was time to buy an airplane, he found the system broken — so he built FlightLine.

Stan Golubtsov
Stan Golubtsov
Co-Founder & CTO

Pilot and engineer. Built products at NerdWallet and Beats, then ran technology as CTO of PVH. He owns the software that makes a shared airplane feel like your own.

Alex Bauer
Alex Bauer
CFO

Commercial pilot and former division CFO at Sutter Health. He structures the ownership, the financing and the reserves, so members know what every dollar covers.

Steve Thinglum
Steve Thinglum
General Counsel

Steve is FlightLine’s General Counsel and a CPA — also a 5-handicap chasing scratch, on a different golf course as often as he can manage. He spent three decades as principal and corporate counsel for a real estate development and construction company, closing deals from both sides of the table. At FlightLine, he builds the legal structure behind every share. When he is not working or golfing, he is with his sons.

Danny Maco
Danny Maco
CPO

Danny is FlightLine’s Chief Product Officer, reimagining aircraft ownership around the freedom and joy of flight. His fascination with aviation began as a boy watching two neighbors race down a giant hill testing their homemade hang gliders. After years turning vehicle data into products people love, he founded AeroTelematics to bring that thinking to aviation. At FlightLine, he builds the software that carries the hard parts of ownership — so members just fly.

Mitchel Sellers
Mitchel Sellers
Head of Aircraft Product

Pilot, instructor (CFII/CSIP/MEI), and technologist. Mitchel has been flying for more than 12 years, mixing his love for aviation and technology, and has owned multiple Cirrus aircraft over the years. Helping others through the airplane ownership/management process lead him to join the FlightLine team to make things easier for others.

Software first

The platform is the product.

One system runs the schedule, the maintenance and the records. You see your hours, your payments and your airplane’s status — and you never have to manage any of it.

Mission

To give owner-pilots real ownership of aspirational aircraft — without the second job that used to come with it.

Vision

To make owning an aircraft as simple as owning a car — scheduling, maintenance, insurance and paperwork, all handled in one place.

Standards we live by.

Our commitments to our members.

01

We do what we say and we keep our word.

02

Safety is a culture. Learning is a lifestyle.

03

Few types, one standard, so every aircraft is familiar.

04

We operate the newest and most aspirational equipment.

05

We grow by opening markets, but keep ownership intimate.
